AKTIFITAS ANTIBAKTERI MINYAK ATSIRI DARI DAUN DAN KULIT BUAH JERUK LUNGGO (Citrus medica L.) DAN JERUK KASTURI MEDAN (Citrus x microcarpa Bunge)

Abstract


 Permasalahan resistensi antibiotik mendorong banyak penelitian global mengarah kepada pencarian senyawa obat dari bahan alam. Minyak atsiri jeruk telah dikenal memiliki berbagai bioaktifitas seperti antibakteri, antioksidan, antijamur, antivirus. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktifitas antibakteri dari minyak atsiri pada Kulit Buah dan Daun dari Jeruk Lunggo (Citrus medica L) dan Jeruk Kasturi Medan (Citrus x microcarpa Bunge). Minyak atsiri diperoleh dengan metode hidrodestilasi. Pengujian aktiftas antibakteri dilakukan terhadap bakteri gram positif Staphylococcus aureus dan bakteri gram negatif Escherichia coli menggunakan metode Broth Microdilution. Hasil pengujian antibakteri menunjukkan minyak atsiri dari Daun Jeruk Lunggo (DL) memiliki aktifitas antibakteri paling kuat terhadap bakteri S. aureus nilai KHM dan KBM sebesar 25 mg/ml, serta aktifitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri E. coli dengan Nilai KHM dan KBM berturut-turut 25 mg/ml dan 50 mg/ml. Minyak Atsiri dari Daun Jeruk Lunggo dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut menjadi obat antibakteri.
