PENGARUH POSITIVE THINKING TERHADAP KUALITAS HIDUP FAMILY CAREGIVER YANG MERAWAT PASIEN SELAMA MENJALANI TERAPI KANKER

Abstract

Prognosis kanker yang buruk dapat menyebabkan family caregiver memiliki pikiran negatif yang menyebabkan situasi menjadi semakin terpuruk dan berdampak terhadap penurunan kualitas hidup. Namun demikian positive thinking juga berperan di tengah kondisi perawatan pasien yang tidak menentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh positive thinking terhadap kualitas hidup family caregiver yang merawat pasien selama menjalani terapi kanker. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah korelasi dengan dengan pendekatan cross sectional dan interview tidak terstruktur. Populasi family caregiver yang merawat pasien kanker di Yayasan Kanker Indonesia Cabang Jawa Timur (YKI) berjumlah 40 orang. Sampel diambil secara purposive sampling dan didapatkan besar sampel 37 orang. Instrumen menggunakan positivity scale dan Caregiver Quality of Life of Cancer (CQoLC) yang telah valid dan reliabel. Pengisian kuesioner dilakukan dengan menerapkan prinsip etik penelitian. Hasil uji normalitas dengan Shapiro Wilk didapatkan data berdistribusi normal (p > 0.05). Uji regresi linear pada variabel positive thinking dan kualitas hidup didapatkan p = 0.000 dan R Square = 0.419, hal ini berarti positive thinking memberikan pengaruh yang bermakna sebesar 41.9% terhadap kualitas hidup. Positive thinking yang muncul pada family caregiver menjadi faktor penting dalam menumbuhkan kekuatan dan motivasi diri sebagai dasar untuk membentuk kualitas hidup yang baik dari semua dimensi.
