PENGARUH KOMPRES HANGAT KAYU MANIS (Cinnamomum burmani) TERHADAP PENURUNAN NYERI PENDERITA ARTHRITIS GOUT EFFECT OF WARM COMPRESS OF SWEET WOOD (Cinnamomum burmani) TOWARDS DECREASE IN ARTHRITIS GOUT PATIENTS

Abstract

ABSTRAK

Prevalensi penyakit Arthritis Gout termasuk kategori tinggi. Gangguan akibat kadar asam urat yang tinggi bisa mengakibatkan nyeri sendi kuat, pembengkakan sendi, peradangan pada sendi, dan kerusakan pada sendi. Kayu manis memiliki efek farmakologi seperti anti rematik, dan analgesic dapat penghilang rasa sakit. Kayu manis mengandung minyak atsiri (1-4%) yang  terdiri atas senyawa eugenol, safrol, sinamaldehide, tannin, kalsium oksalat, damar, serta zat penyamak. Jenis penelitian adalah Quasi Experiment, dengan rancangan pre test post test two group design dengan jumlah 20 orang sampel. Penelitian dilakukan  tanggal 10 - 13 September 2019 di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Lubuk Begalung Padang dengan teknik Porposive Sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi dan dianalisa secara Univariat dan Bivariat.  Hasil penelitian diketahui nilai rata-rata skala nyeri sebelum diberikan kompres hangat kayu manis yaitu 5,00 sedangkan setelah diberikan kompres hangat kayu manis yaitu 2,30. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik Mann Whitney didapatkan nilai Sig (2-tailed) = 0,005, maka Sig  ≤ 0,05. Ada pengaruh pemberian kompres hangat kayu manis terhadap penuruanan skala nyeri penderita Arthritis Gout. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan dalam memberikan pendidikan kesehatan bagi pimpinan puskesmas pada penderita Artritis Gout untuk dapat menggunakan kayu manis sebagai salah satu terapi non farmakologi  penderitaArthritis Gout.

ABSTRACT

The prevalence of Gouty Arthritis is high. Disorders due to high uric acid levels can result in strong joint pain, joint swelling, inflammation in the joints, and damage to the joints. Cinnamon has pharmacological effects such as anti-rheumatism, and analgesics can be pain relief. Cinnamon contains essential oils (1-4%) consisting of eugenol, safrol, sinamaldehide, tannin, calcium oxalate, resin, and tanning substances. This type of research is Quasi Experiment, with a pre-test post test two group design with a total of 20 samples. The study was conducted September 10-13, 2019 in the working area of the Lubuk Begalung Public Health Center in Padang using the Porposive Sampling technique. Data collection uses observation sheets and analyzed by Univariate and Bivariate. The results of the study revealed the average value of the pain scale before given cinnamon warm compress is 5.00 while after given cinnamon warm compress is 2.30. Based on the Mann Whitney statistical test results obtained Sig (2-tailed) = 0.005, then Sig ≤ 0.05. There is an effect of giving warm cinnamon compresses to reduce the pain scale in patients with Arthritis Gout. It is hoped that the results of this study can be used as material in providing health education for health center leaders in patients with Arthritis Gout to be able to use cinnamon as one of the non-pharmacological therapies for Gout Arthritis patients.
