THE EFFECT OF PEER CORRECTION ON THE ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS ‘WRITING ABILITY OF ANALYTICAL EXPOSITION TEXT AT SMA PERTIWI 1 PADANG

Abstract


This research was aimed to test the effect of peer correction technique toward students’ writing ability of analytical exposition text. The research design of this was 80,2 while the control group got 71,08. The result of this research found that the students who were taught by using peer correction produced better writing of analytical exposition text than those who were taught by using teacher’s feedback technique. It can be concluded that teaching writing analytical exposition   text by using peer correction gives better result in students’ writing than teacher’s study was a quasi experimental design. The population was the first grade students of SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. Two classes were randomly selected as the sample of the study. During the treatment, students in experimental group used peer correction technique, while students in control group used teacher’s feedback technique. The analysis of the test result showed that the students ’score of experimental group was higher than control group. In the post test, the mean score of the experimental group feedback.
